I will never forget the day. I was busy working on various assignments when my inbox sent a notification with a subject line that read “You are Invited”. I didn’t rush to read the invite because since I started my business I have gotten “Invited” to many things and most times it’s a webinar, marketing event or some sort of solicitation disguised as an invite. However that day in March, it was different, this email was an invitation to take a yacht cruise in Croatia. I remember reviewing and rereading the email a couple of times when I saw that it was no cost if I attended (being a travel professional that sells Croatia) but I must respond quickly as slots were filling up pretty fast. If you can not tell from the title of this post. I replied, was selected and I went in June. And I was totally in awe and love while I was there.
Where do I start? How do I describe a place that makes you feel magical from the moment you step foot out the airport? My dreamy driver who eagerly awaited my arrival and was happy to initiate a mini tour on the way to our hotel in Dubrovnik. The streets. The trees. The architecture. EVERYTHING said “Hello Beautiful.” You felt beautiful just being there. We stayed at Hotel Kompas a well appointed boutique gem that had stunning sea views from every angle. There was no way you couldn’t look out at the Adriatic Sea and not feel at peace. The beautiful blue waters and the way the sun sparkled on its surface would warm you from the inside out. We took Katarina Cruise Line and sailed from Dubrovnik to Korcula. Then onto Metcula and last but not least Split. The cruise was actually longer but I had to get back to the states due to my pending work and additional adventures. We did manage to squeeze in an extra day in Split and overnight in Paris which was just the perfect icing on an already delicious cake.
Croatia is a unique and (did I say) beautiful destination. Each location within Croatia has a personality all its own. I am still getting to know all its beauty and I am drawn to all it has to offer to new and well traveled traveler’s. Make sure to add Croatia to that Bucket List. It is a great place for solo travel, group getaway and a romantic rendezvous. I know once you visit you will have a crush just like I do.
Until next time,
Kendra
